About Lucy Broadwood

Profile to follow. One of Lucy Broadwood's many important contributions was the book English County Songs produced in co-operation with J.A. Fuller Maitland. It contained ninety-three songs; six from Sussex sources.  This was first published in 1893 by Leadenhall Press in 1893 and simultaneously in New York by C. Scribner's Sons. This was re-published in the 1940s by Cramer & Co of London with a thin card cover. It must have been re-printed at least once because there are versions with a diffrent typeface to the one illustrated above. Around the same time Cramer also published sheet music for some of the book's songs
